Sean Dean	General	So, I realize this is 7 years late, but I stumbled upon this photo and got curious, and it led me down the rabbit hole to digging up the history on this unit. This unit was built 3/65 as SP 4842. Later that year, the SP SD35's were renumbered into the 6900 series, and the unit became SP 6926. The unit was rebuilt as a SD35R in early 1978, and emerged from the rebuild as SP 4707. Later that year, it was renumbered for the last time in SP service to SP 2968. In 1986, it got repainted into the SPSF "kodachrome" merger scheme, becoming the only SP SD35 to get the scheme. It was repainted back into bloody nose in 1988, and served with SP until 1997 when it was let go post-merger with UP. From there, it was sold and went on an adventure through southern Quebec of all places, before ending up with the Tennessee Southern. It was sold to Railway Contractors Inc (MJRX) in 2005, who presumably gave it an overhaul before repainting it for Kodiak Mining, who got it in 2006. Haven't seen th	11/18/2020 10:22:53 PM

Sean Dean	General	As for the line it's on, it's what's left of the Southern Blocton Branch between Gurnee Jct and Blocton, where it hooked into the L&N. Further down on the abandoned portion of this line, there are some huge concrete pillars remaining from the bridge that carried this line across the Cahaba River. Now, I haven't seen this unit in person, but looking at google earth imagery of the line, it looks like it hasn't moved in quite some time	11/18/2020 10:30:55 PM

Kodiak Mining Company
TANA SD35 2306 sitting at Kodiak Mining Company in Pea Ridge, AL. I dont know much info about this Rail Line this locomotive is sitting on, I know this line connects into the NS 3B North District at Gurnee Junction just north of where this photo was taking but I'm not sure where this line runs South of this location, if anyone has any info about this Rail Line or this Locomotive feel free to comment below. Thanks to my friend Jason Deloach for showing me where this locomotive was sitting & also for getting me into the company with permission
